Role of polarization in probing anomalous gauge interactions of the Higgs
نویسندگان
چکیده
We explore the use of polarized e+/e− beams and/or the information on final state decay lepton polarizations in probing the interaction of the Higgs boson with a pair of vector bosons. A model independent analysis of the process e+e− → f f̄H, where f is any light fermion, is carried out through the construction of observables having identical properties under the discrete symmetry transformations as different individual anomalous interactions. This allows us to probe an individual anomalous term independent of the others. We find that initial state beam polarization can significantly improve the sensitivity to CP−odd ZZH couplings. Moreover, an ability to isolate events with a particular τ helicity, with even 40% efficiency, can improve sensitivities to certain ZZH couplings by as much as a factor of 3. In addition, the contamination from the ZZH vertex contributions present in the measurement of the WWH couplings can be reduced to a great extent by employing polarised beams. The effects of ISR and beamstrahlung, which can be relevant for higher values of the beam energy are also included in the analysis.

متن کاملProbing the MSSM Higgs Boson Sector with Explicit CP Violation through Third Generation Fermion Pair Production at Muon Colliders
We perform a systematic study of the production of a third–generation fermion– pair, μ+μ− → f f̄ for f = τ−, b, and t in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with explicit CP violation, which is induced radiatively by soft trilinear interactions related to squarks of the third generation. We classify all the observables for probing the CP property of the Higgs bosons constructed by t...
متن کاملAnomalous Higgs Couplings
We review the effects of new effective interactions on the Higgs boson phenomenology. New physics in the electroweak bosonic sector is expected to induce additional interactions between the Higgs doublet field and the electroweak gauge bosons leading to anomalous Higgs couplings as well as to anomalous gauge–boson self–interactions. Using a linearly realized SU(2)L × U(1)Y invariant effective L...
متن کاملBounds on Higgs and Gauge–Boson Interactions from LEP2 Data
We derive bounds on Higgs and gauge–boson anomalous interactions using the LEP2 data on the production of three photons and photon pairs in association with hadrons. In the framework of SU(2)L ⊗ U(1)Y effective Lagrangians, we examine all dimension–six operators that lead to anomalous Higgs interactions involving γ and Z. The search for Higgs boson decaying to γγ pairs allow us to obtain constr...
متن کاملProbing Hidden Sector Photons through the Higgs Window
We investigate the possibility that a (light) hidden sector extra photon receives its mass via spontaneous symmetry breaking of a hidden sector Higgs boson, the so-called hidden-Higgs. The hidden-photon can mix with the ordinary photon via a gauge kinetic mixing term. The hidden-Higgs can couple to the Standard Model Higgs via a renormalizable quartic term – sometimes called the Higgs Portal. W...
